Corinthians supporters have overwhelmingly backed a new deal for Zakaria Labyad for next season.
According to Meu Timao, 90.3% of fans in a poll supported retaining the Moroccan for 2027, with 9.7% opposed. The 33-year-old is contracted until 31 December this year, and the agreement could trigger an automatic extension if pre-set targets are met, taking it to the end of the next campaign.
Labyad joined in February 2026 on a free after leaving Dalian Yingbo in China. A close relationship with Memphis Depay, a fellow PSV youth product, helped the move.
He debuted on 11 March in a 2-0 home defeat to Coritiba in the Campeonato Brasileiro, coming off the bench at Neo Química Arena under then coach Dorival Júnior, who used him sparingly. After Fernando Diniz arrived, his minutes increased.
He has made 14 appearances, just one of them a start. In that spell Corinthians recorded seven wins, two draws and five defeats, with Labyad contributing one goal and two assists.
During the interseason he has been tested with the starters in the role of Garro, the number eight, who will be suspended against Remo on 23 July and miss the Arena. The final line-up will be set after the coming weeks of preparation. Before then, Corinthians visit Cascavel on Sunday 12 at 16:00 in Paraná for a friendly.
