Corinthians Futsal winger hails Paulista rout, rising confidence

This Thursday (13th), Corinthians returned to the court for the São Paulo Futsal Championship. In a match valid for the first leg of the semifinals of the competition, the Alvinegro visited Ferroviária Pinda at the Tobias Salgado Gymnasium in Pindamonhangaba, achieving an impressive 7-2 victory after an exemplary performance in the second half. The goals for Timão were scored by Marlon (three), Maicon, Igor Carioca, Kelvin, and Edimar.

After the match, winger Igor Carioca spoke to the press, analyzing the game: “We knew it would be a tough game here, and they have a very qualified team. Even in the game, we started a bit below par, especially since we came from a very tiring match (against Magnus), but we also came with a lot of confidence. We came from a huge qualification against our biggest rival, and we knew things could happen naturally here.”

He continued, talking about the importance of winning away from home. “Our game was on point, and the first half was tight, but in the second half, we managed to maintain our game and opened the score, thank God”, he concluded.

The victory allowed the People's Team to reinforce the advantage they already had, which gave them the right to decide the state final at home. Now, the team plays for a draw at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, and even if they happen to lose the duel in regular time, they regain the advantage of a draw in overtime.
