Corinthians: Garro teases Lingard after Argentina beat England at World Cup

Corinthians midfielder Rodrigo Garro teased team-mate Jesse Lingard on Instagram during Thursday training, celebrating Argentina reaching the World Cup final. He shared an image of the Englishman in the CT Joaquim Grava gym.

According to Globo.com, the post featured Argentina’s flag and the song La cuarta estrella, heard across North American stadiums during Lionel Messi and company’s push for a fourth world title.

On Tuesday, a video showed Lingard saying he believed in a 3-0 England win in the World Cup semi-final.

The match finished 2-1 to Argentina after a late second-half turnaround.

Despite the defeat and the Argentine banter, Lingard had a busy day at the club. His daughter Hope Lingard, seven, is visiting him in Brazil and trained with Corinthians’ women’s team in the morning.
