Corinthians hand Zakaria Labyad shirt 52, eligible for Portuguesa quarter-final | OneFootball

Corinthians have allocated shirt 52 to Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad for his spell at the club. According to Meu Timao, the 32-year-old already appears in the club’s updated official materials.

He has signed through December 2026, with an option of a further year subject to targets. He is registered for the Campeonato Paulista after being officially unveiled last Friday.

Labyad is legally eligible to debut on Sunday against Portuguesa at 20:30 at Canindé, a single-leg quarter-final.

He was added before the registration deadline, using a slot previously occupied by Félix Torres, who is on loan at Internacional. His status is listed as regular on the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário.

The midfielder has been training at CT Dr Joaquim Grava, and had been awaiting work-visa clearance to be available to the coaching staff. Internally, the expectation is he could still need a few matches before featuring, as he has not played since 22 November with Dalian Yingbo in China.

Labyad watched the last two Corinthians games at Neo Química Arena from the box of Memphis Depay, his former PSV Eindhoven team-mate in the Netherlands.
