According to Meu Timao, Danilo Andrade, a Corinthians great, has been appointed head coach of Uberlândia after Rogério Henrique was dismissed on Monday.
He joins the current leaders of Group A11 in Serie D, already through to the knockout stage with five wins, three draws and one defeat.
This is his second professional spell as a manager. His first senior role was at Pouso Alegre in Minas Gerais, where he reached the Campeonato Mineiro semi-finals this year before losing to Cruzeiro. He left in March by mutual consent.
Danilo moved into coaching after retiring in 2019, starting at Corinthians. He took the under-23s in 2021, then switched to the under-20s in January 2022.
With the Filhos do Terrão he helped develop Gabriel Moscardo, Wesley and Breno Bidon. His under-20 record was 114 games, 69 wins, 20 draws and 25 defeats, crowned by the 2024 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.
He also had an interim outing with the senior side in 2023, a single derby at Allianz Parque that ended in a 2-1 defeat to Palmeiras.
As a player for Corinthians he made 359 appearances, scoring 35 goals and providing 36 assists. He lifted eight trophies, including the Libertadores, the Club World Cup and three Brasileirãos.
