Dayana Rodríguez has been called up by Venezuela for the final round of the Conmebol Women’s Nations League as they chase a place at the Women’s World Cup.
According to Meu Timao, the Corinthians midfielder is one of eight midfielders named by Brazilian coach Ricardo Belli for the meeting with Uruguay on nine June.
Venezuela are third on 11 points and need a top-two finish to qualify directly for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. They can still overhaul Argentina and Colombia, both on 14 points with a game more. The teams in third and fourth will enter the play-off.
Rodríguez will face her club team-mate Belén Aquino, who has been called up by Uruguay. Gisela Robledo has also received a Colombia call. The trio will miss Corinthians’ friendlies against the United States under-23s on five and nine June.
Before joining up, Rodríguez remains available to head coach Emily Lima for Saturday’s third phase Copa do Brasil Feminina derby, which is set for 11:00 at Nubank Parque.
