Corinthians ordered to pay R$1 million in labour case brought by Everaldo

The Labor Court has ordered Corinthians to pay around R$ 1 million to striker Everaldo, currently at Coritiba, for unpaid FGTS, 13th salary, and vacation pay. The decision is in the first instance and is subject to appeal.

The lawsuit was filed in June of this year, when Everaldo claimed payment of the 13th salary, vacation pay, image rights, and fines for alleged labor irregularities, as well as attorney's fees.

In the ruling, substitute judge Rodrigo Rocha Gomes de Loiola, from the 2nd Justice 4.0 Center of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region (TRT-2), recognized the player's right to FGTS, 13th salary, and vacation pay. The overdue FGTS corresponds to the period from February 2020 to February 2023.

However, the judge did not grant the requests for fines and considered that the Labor Court did not have jurisdiction to rule on the collection of two installments from the renegotiation of image rights, as these are civil matters.

According to the calculations by Everaldo's defense, led by lawyer Filipe Rino, the amount to be received by the player is R$ 969,439.62. Including attorney's fees and court costs, the total amount of the judgment reaches R$ 1,038,296.83.

Everaldo wore the Corinthians jersey in 2019 and 2020, with stints at Sport and América-MG between 2021 and 2023, before transferring to Vitória and later to Coritiba. For Timão, he played 36 matches, scored four goals, and provided one assist.
