Corinthians placed on São Paulo list of top municipal tax debtors | OneFootball

São Paulo city hall published a public website listing the largest municipal tax debtors on Tuesday morning, with Corinthians placed 37th on R$450 million in active debt, according to Globo.com.

The list features companies, banks, associations and educational institutions. Jockey Club de São Paulo is the other club named, with R$859 million in active debt.

Corinthians' total indebtedness is estimated at R$2.8 billion. This includes sums owed to São Paulo city hall, the Caixa Econômica Federal loan for the Neo Química Arena, federal taxes, and other liabilities such as labour debts and agreements with businessmen, athletes and suppliers.

In April, the current board must meet the Deliberative Council to present the 2025 accounts for a vote.

The club's last update, covering November last year, reported a deficit of R$247.8 million. The club has been asked for comment on the make-up of the municipal debt and any response will be added.
