Corinthians booked a place in Sunday’s FIFA Champions Cup final and are guaranteed at least US$ one million after beating Gotham 1-0 in London.

The semi-final on Wednesday morning at GTech Community Stadium was settled late by Gabi Zanotti. The competition is the first club world championship in the women’s game. According to Meu Timao, both finalists at Emirates Stadium at 15:00 Brasília time will receive at least US$ one million, around R$ 5.3 million.

That payout is five times the US$ 200,000, roughly R$ 1.1 million, guaranteed to each of the four teams invited to the UK Final Four. Arsenal face AS FAR of Morocco later on Wednesday for the other place in the final.

The eventual champions will collect a further US$ 1.3 million, around R$ 6.9 million, taking the total to US$ 2.3 million, roughly R$ 12.2 million.

It is the largest prize ever awarded to champions of an interclub tournament in the women’s game.
