Corinthians recorded back-to-back clean sheets with a 0-0 draw against Palmeiras on Sunday. The result left them on 11 points but gave Fernando Diniz a defensive platform at the outset of his tenure.
The sequence began last Thursday in Argentina with a controlled 2-0 win over Platense in the Libertadores group stage. According to Meu Timao, the derby stalemate made it two clean sheets from Diniz's first two games.
The only longer sequence this year came in February across three fixtures. Corinthians beat Red Bull Bragantino 2-0 on 12 February in the Brasileirão, then São Bernardo 1-0 on 15 February in the Paulista, before a 1-0 win away to Athletico-PR on 19 February in the Brasileirão.
Diniz's side now have the chance to match that run. They face Independiente Santa Fe of Colombia on Wednesday at 21:30 in Group E of the Libertadores at Neo Química Arena.
The derby formed part of the 11th round of the Brasileirão.
