Corinthians returned to training on Wednesday morning, beginning preparations for the resumption of their Brasileirão campaign after two days off. As reported by Meu Timao, Fernando Diniz led the session at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava following Sunday’s 1-1 friendly draw with FC Cascavel at Estádio Olímpico Regional.
The squad opened with strength work in the gym, then moved to the pitch for a warm-up and a four-station technical circuit covering possession play, crosses and finishing, running drills, and two v two duels with shots.
Diniz then staged a 10 v 10 tactical exercise focused on building under a high press, coordinated pressing, and immediate reactions after losing possession. The team are due back in on Thursday morning.
The session also marked the start of physical transition work for left-back Hugo Farias and forward Vitinho, both sidelined since before the World Cup break. Farias is recovering from a lateral meniscus injury to his right knee sustained in February, while Vitinho continues treatment for right hamstring tendon damage diagnosed in May after hip pain.
July brings three league fixtures. Corinthians host Remo on 23 July at 19:30 in round 19 at the Neo Química Arena, visit Bahia on 26 July at 16:00 at the Arena Fonte Nova, then welcome Athletico-PR on 30 July at 19:30 at the Casa do Povo.
They sit 10th on 24 points, and a win over Remo could leave them sixth by the end of the round, depending on other results.
