Corinthians face Flamengo in the Supercopa do Brasil final at Mané Garrincha at 16:00 on Sunday, aiming to strengthen their record in national finals.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have contested 15 national finals, winning eight and finishing runners-up seven times, a 53.33% return.

Their first national final came in 1976, a 2-0 defeat to Internacional. The 1990s were their most dominant era, with six finals and only one loss, to Palmeiras in 1994. Titles in that spell included the Campeonato Brasileiro in 1990, 1998 and 1999, the 1991 Supercopa do Brasil and the 1995 Copa do Brasil.

From 2001 to 2010 the returns fluctuated. Corinthians lifted the Copa do Brasil in 2002 and 2009, were runners-up in 2001 and 2008, and also lost the 2002 Brasileiro final to Santos.

More recently, national deciders proved tougher. Cruzeiro beat them in the 2018 Copa do Brasil final, with a Pedrinho goal at Neo Química Arena ruled out by VAR in a moment that could have taken the tie to penalties. In 2022, Flamengo prevailed on penalties at the Maracanã after two draws, before Corinthians finally won the tournament in 2025 at the same venue by beating Vasco 2-1.
