Corinthians step up training for derby clash with Palmeiras

Corinthians made progress in their preparations for the first Derby of the season during the training session held on Friday afternoon (06) at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. This session marked the beginning of direct preparation for the match against Palmeiras, valid for the seventh round of the Campeonato Paulista.

The schedule was organized differently for the squad. The players who had the most minutes in the 3-0 victory over Capivariano remained in physical recovery activities, conducted inside the training center. The other players participated in fieldwork after muscle strengthening exercises.

On the field, the coaching staff prioritized collective adjustments, with a tactical exercise focused on game situations and set-piece play repetitions. The session concluded with a segment dedicated to finishing.

Medical department updates on players’ conditions

Left-back Hugo left the last match with pain in his right knee and was diagnosed with a lateral meniscus injury. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days. Forward Kaio César, meanwhile, suffered an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh and has already begun treatment with the club’s medical department.

The Alvinegro’s preparations will continue on Saturday morning (07), when the squad will hold their final training session before the derby. The match against Palmeiras will take place on Sunday (08), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena.
