Corinthians turn down Argentinos Juniors offer for Pedro Milans | OneFootball

Corinthians have rejected an offer from Argentinos Juniors for right-back Pedro Milans, according to Meu Timao.

The bid was a loan worth 1.1 million dollars, with a fixed purchase obligation, roughly R$ 5.6 million at current rates. The board declined as they believe a more favourable deal is possible, particularly with funds needed in this window.

Milans is under contract until 31 December 2029. He joined on a free in the last window after his Peñarol deal expired.

Brought in as immediate cover for Matheuzinho, he addressed a shortage of natural right-backs. Léo Maná is on loan at Criciúma and is due back in August. Gabriel Caipira has also returned following a spell at Betim, Minas Gerais.

The 24-year-old Uruguayan has yet to cement a place and has had limited chances under Dorival Júnior and Fernando Diniz. He has made eight appearances, seven starts, with three wins and five draws. He is yet to score or assist.

Against Remo at Neo Química Arena on Thursday, he is expected to begin among the substitutes. Even so, he could gain more minutes in the second half of the year as Corinthians balance the Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores.
