Osmar Stabile has explained his trip to the United States, describing an agenda centred on MLS meetings and stressing he continues to oversee Corinthians remotely.

According to Meu Timao, the visit came at the CBF’s invitation as part of an immersion with MLS stakeholders.

Later in the day, Memphis Depay featured as the Netherlands drew 2-2 with Japan in their World Cup group opener.

The Corinthians forward began on the bench and was introduced after 24 minutes of the second half, replacing Malen.

The Corinthians women’s Under-17s also rallied in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, winning 3-2 at Fazendinha after trailing 2-0.

Letícia scored twice and Glória Lira added the other goal.
