Corinthians women oust Palmeiras, men win at Grêmio, Garro suspended

Corinthians enjoyed a productive Saturday, the women knocking out Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil and the men winning away in the league, though Rodrigo Garro incurred a ban.

According to Meu Timao, it was a busy day for the club across competitions.

The Brabas began their Copa do Brasil campaign with a derby at Allianz Parque. Corinthians were superior and beat Palmeiras 1-0 to advance to the next round.

In the 18th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, Corinthians defeated Grêmio 3-1 at the Arena do Grêmio. André Luiz scored twice, with Kaio César adding the third.

Garro received his third yellow card in the win over Grêmio, triggering an automatic suspension for Corinthians’ next Brasileirão match. The Argentine midfielder will sit out the meeting with Remo on 22 July.
