Corinthians return to action on Sunday with a friendly against Cascavel at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Paraná, the first outing of the 2026 World Cup break, according to Meu Timao.
There were no friendlies in 2022, as the Brazilian season had already finished before the November and December tournament.
In 2018, under Osmar Loss, the club arranged three tune-ups before competitive play resumed.
On 4 July, Corinthians beat Cruzeiro 2-0 at the Mineirão, with Romero and Pedro Henrique on target.
Four days later, they came from behind to defeat Grêmio 2-1 at Neo Química Arena, through Matheus Matias and Marquinhos Gabriel.
On 11 July, back at Neo Química Arena, they drew 2-2 with Cruzeiro, Paulo Roberto and Pedrinho scoring.
During the 2014 finals in Brazil, the only friendly was a 4-1 win over Uberaba on 6 July under Mano Menezes, after falling behind, Luciano, Jadson, Elias and Renato Augusto completed the turnaround. It also marked Ángel Romero’s debut, the Paraguayan coming off the bench aged 22.
In 2010, Corinthians entered the friendly Torneio Cidade de Londrina, opening with a 1-0 victory over Iraty at Estádio do Café, Jorge Henrique sealing passage to the final.
Two days later, they lost the final 1-0 to Athletico-PR at the same venue. On 7 July 2010, they routed Comercial-MS 6-0 at Estádio Morenão in Campo Grande.
