Eduardo Coudet will begin his River tenure with three definite absentees and Juan Fernando Quintero doubtful for 12 March.

According to SuperDepor.com, Coudet ran his first training session at Ezeiza on Wednesday after his unveiling, and has a little over a week to prepare for the trip to the Tomás Adolfo Ducó in Parque Patricios.

Defender Germán Pezzella is in the final stages of recovering from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, with a potential return to squads towards late March. Midfielder Maximiliano Meza is rehabilitating an avulsion of the left patellar tendon suffered in the last superclásico against Boca, and with that joint previously operated on after the Club World Cup, the club is proceeding cautiously and plans a mid-April return.

Goalkeeper Franco Armani is also unavailable, having played only 45 minutes this year, as he undergoes work to strengthen his right calf and treat Achilles tendinitis. The minimum recovery window is around three weeks, so Santiago Beltrán will remain in goal.

Quintero sustained a grade I tear of the right biceps femoris against Vélez and his recovery timeline is tight. Despite the mild nature of the injury, the staff are considering resting him to avoid a setback.

The positive note is Giuliano Galoppo, who has overcome a left ankle knock that kept him out against Independiente Rivadavia and has returned to full training. He is now available.
