Former England and Manchester City star Kyle Walker has this weekend admitted his surprise with the decision of Thomas Tuchel to leave Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his World Cup squad for the summer.
Tactician Tuchel of course grabbed headlines across the world of football late this week.
This came upon the former Chelsea boss leaving a whole host of high-profile names out of his travelling squad for this summer’s headline international showcase.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Harry Maguire and Phil Foden will all be forced to watch on from home for England’s World Cup campaign.
So too will the aforementioned Trent Alexander-Arnold, in the eyes of many the most bemusing exclusion from the Three Lions’ ranks.
Speaking during an appearance on talkSport this weekend, the name of his fellow defender was therefore put to England’s long-time starting right-back, Kyle Walker.
And the Burnley star did not hold back in responding:
“A Real Madrid player not getting into England is crazy.
“We all talk about what Trent doesn’t do so well. How about we talk about what he does well? He’s probably the best right-back in the world when it comes to passing, delivering balls, getting assists, and then his big game catalogue.”
