Cristiano Ronaldo marks 10 years since Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph

According to L'Équipe, Cristiano Ronaldo marked the 10th anniversary of Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph with an Instagram post, sharing two images and a brief caption.

Portugal beat France 1-0 after extra time in the 2016 final at the Stade de France. Ronaldo will not win a World Cup, but he contributed to that success.

He was forced off injured in the 25th minute of the final after an early challenge from Dimitri Payet in the eighth minute. The Portugal captain had scored three goals in the tournament, including in the 2-0 semi-final win over Wales.

A decade on, the 41-year-old reflected on the Seleção’s first major title. He described it as a victory worth millions.

Ronaldo played his last World Cup match on Monday, a 0-1 defeat to Spain.
