Cristina Martín-Prieto joins Galatasaray on a free after Benfica spell | OneFootball

Galatasaray announced on Friday that Spain international forward Cristina Martín-Prieto has joined on a free transfer after two seasons at Benfica. She joins the Türkiye club’s squad, which already includes Portugal internationals Patrícia Morais and Jéssica Silva.

At 33, the striker departs Portuguese football after a successful spell with Benfica. Signed in 2024, she made 65 competitive appearances, scored 35 goals and won two Campeonatos Nacionais, one Taça de Portugal and one Taça da Liga.

In her debut campaign she finished as Liga BPI top scorer with 19 goals. Before moving to Portugal, she spent most of her career in Spain with Sevilla, Sporting de Huelva and Tenerife.

Her Benfica displays brought a first call-up to Spain’s senior team. She scored on debut against Canada and later featured in the side that won the Nations League, also representing Spain at the European Championship.

In 2025/2026 for Benfica she played 28 competitive matches, 12 in the Liga BPI, six in the Champions League, five in the Taça da Liga, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Supertaça. Across 1,613 minutes she registered five goals.
