Petar Sucic immediately showed his worth for Inter Milan playing a man down in a friendly against Monaco.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have made midfielder Petar Sucic one of their most notable signings of the summer.
The Nerazzurri had actually already secured a deal to sign the Croatian international as far back as February. However, he only actually joined the club in June.
It is clear that Inter are backing Sucic to play a big role in their midfield for years to come.
Sucic had a great chance to show what he can contribute against Monaco in a friendly on Friday evening.
The fact that Hakan Calhanoglu received a red card meant that Inter had to play more than half the match at a numerical disadvantage.
However, for Sucic that proved to be a great opportunity.
The 23-year-old really shone in those difficult circumstances. His ability to cover ground really came through as he had to take on a greater workload in midfield.
Then, Sucic’s versatility also proved to be an asset.
With just two midfielders on the pitch rather than three, Inter needed Sucic to play all over the pitch. And he looked like a real Swiss army knife midfielder, capable of just about doing it all.
