Cruzeiro sacked Tite on Sunday, 15 March after a 3-3 draw with Vasco. According to Coluna Do Fla, they are targeting Filipe Luís, with Artur Jorge being considered as an alternative.
The Minas Gerais club want a new head coach in place by the end of the next FIFA window, in early April. Talks with Filipe Luís had already started before Tite’s exit.
Filipe Luís, dismissed by Flamengo at the start of March, is aiming to begin projects in Europe and is awaiting offers from the continent.
Artur Jorge is currently head coach of Al Rayyan (CAT). Flamengo were close to appointing him at the end of 2025 when their renewal with Filipe Luís had not advanced, and the former Botafogo coach signalled approval.
On 29 December, Flamengo announced a new deal for Filipe Luís, ending talks with Artur Jorge, who remained focused on his work at Al Rayyan.
Flamengo now turn to Remo at the Maracanã on Thursday, 19 March at 20:00 Brasília time, in the seventh round of the Brasileirão.
