Cruzeiro host Grêmio in the Brasileirão on Saturday, 18 April 2026 at Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto, with the hosts aiming to climb out of the relegation places and the visitors looking to steady their mid-table form.
Cruzeiro won both league meetings in 2025, 4-1 at home and 1-0 away, after a 1-1 draw against Grêmio in late 2024. The game returns to Belo Horizonte with the hosts in 17th and the visitors 12th.
Cruzeiro's league form has swung, from a heavy defeat at São Paulo to a 2-1 home win over RB Bragantino. Imortal, meanwhile, drew 0-0 in back to back league matches and are still without an away league victory, taking two points on the road so far.
Raposa list Cássio, Luis Sinisterra and Marquinhos as injured. Tricolor Gaúcho travel without Willian, João Pedro, Villasanti and Marlon through injuries, while Viery is suspended, leaving defensive and midfield options thinner.
Raposa have scored 14 and conceded 21 in the league, but nine of their 10 points have come at home and they have let in seven there. Imortal have struggled for punch away, scoring four and conceding nine. They may look to keep it compact, while Cruzeiro could try to force the tempo in front of their crowd.
A home win would take Cruzeiro to 13 points and could lift them out of the relegation zone. Victory for Imortal would move them to 16 points and could nudge them towards the Copa Sudamericana places. A draw would keep both sides broadly where they are.
