According to NY Times, Crystal Palace are close to a verbal agreement to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with talks advanced on a £45m fee plus £5m in add-ons and on personal terms. Agent Jorge Mendes is negotiating on Wolves’ behalf.

Palace want to bolster their attack before the winter window shuts, though Wolves have not yet received an official bid. His contract runs until June 2030, with a 12 month option.

Leeds United have had multiple offers, up to £40m, rejected and still pursue the Norway forward. He and his Leeds-supporting agent have been keen on a switch to Elland Road, but they do not plan to go higher at present, leaving Palace in pole position.

Strand Larsen scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 38 Premier League appearances in 2024-25. This season he has six goals and two assists amid injury issues, and Wolves are bottom of the table.

Newcastle United made larger bids last summer that were turned down, and there is strong interest from other English clubs and from Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia.

If Palace complete the move, it could pave the way for Jean-Philippe Mateta to depart. They are seeking around £40m for the 28-year-old France international, whose deal runs to June 2027. Nottingham Forest have offered £35m, while AC Milan are keen and Juventus explored the situation earlier in the market.
