Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen for a fee that could reach £50m.
Palace have identified Strand Larsen as their top target to replace Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has informed the Eagles of his desire to leave Selhurst Park.
Negotiations are ongoing betweenCrystal Palace and Wolves, with discussions revolving around an initial £45m fee with a further £5m in potential add-ons. The Athletic are reporting that talks are at an advanced stage.
Strand Larsen scored 14 goals in thePremier League for Wolves last season, but has struggled to replicate that form in 2025-26.
He has netted six times in 23 games but just one of those goals have come in thePremier League, with Wolves 20th in the table and facing almost certain relegation.
Wolves are willing to cash in on the Norway international now to help fund their rebuild.
Leeds United are also interested in Strand Larsen and had an offer of £40m rejected earlier in the window. At this stage, it's unclear whether Leeds are prepared to increase that offer.
Palace's pursuit of Strand Larsen comes amid Mateta's desire to leave. The Frenchman was subject of interest from Juventus and Aston Villa earlier in the January window, while Nottingham Forest have had a £35m offer turned down.
Palace value the 28-year-old - who has 18 months to run on his deal in South London - at £40m.
