The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
The 25-year-old centre-back has spent the last three-and-a-half years with Chelsea after joining the club from Dutch side PSV in summer 2021. While Nouwen initially enjoyed a bright start to her Chelsea career, she has struggled to nail down a regular place in the starting XI. Nouwen spent time out on loan at AC Milan during the 2022/2023 season before her progress was hindered by an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. The player is now back to fitness and she will be hoping to prove her quality at Crystal Palace.
On the international stage, Nouwen is a Dutch international. She has been capped by her country on 43 occasions in which she has scored two goals.
After adding Nouwen to her squad, Crystal Palace head coach Laura Kaminski said “We’re delighted to welcome Aniek to Palace for the rest of the season.
“She is a talented defender and will bring quality and experience to our squad.”
Nouwen is Crystal Palace’s fourth signing of the January transfer window.
