Crystal Palace sign Leicester City forward O’Brien | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have completed the permanent signing of Leicester City forward Shannon O’Brien.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Eagles this afternoon.

It has been reported that Crystal Palace have paid an undisclosed fee to Leicester City to secure O’Brien’s services. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the South Londoners.

O’Brien joined Leicester City from Coventry United in January 2021 and she went on to win promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League just three months later. The forward has gone on to become one of The Foxes’ most influential players. O’Brien has made 99 appearances for the club in all competitions.

With Leicester City now set for a return to the second tier, O’Brien has opted to remain in the Barclays Women’s Super League with newly-promoted Crystal Palace.

After joining The Eagles, O’Brien said “I’m really excited to be here. It’s a big club and we deserve to be in the top league, so I’m looking forward to the season and to the challenge ahead.”

O’Brien is Crystal Palace’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The South Londoners look to be better equipped for Barclays Women’s Super League football this time around.
