Cuba, Jamaica, Honduras take command in their groups

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers continued with five matches taking place in Groups F, G, and H on Sunday.
Group F
Belize 2-2 Curaçao
Belize and Curaçao played out to a 2-2 draw in Group F at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Andy Pop got the opener for Belize in the 2’, striking from the center of the box, assisted by Devaughn Quintanilla.
Byron Marroquin doubled Belize’s lead in the 41’ with a hit to the top left corner from outside the box.
Curaçao responded with two second-half goals to rescue a point. Jëaladino Floranus got the first within the box in the 64’, before he secured his brace from close range in the 68’.
Cuba 2-1 El Salvador
Cuba defeated El Salvador, 2-1, at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala in a battle for first place in Group F.
El Salvador pulled ahead in the 27’ through a right-footed effort from inside the box by Mayson Barillas.
Yankarlos Iglesias equalized for Cuba in the 34’, striking from the top of the box to capitalize on a headed assist from Jesús Bernabé.
Iglesias scored his second of the match in the 36’ to seal the comeback for Cuba.
Group G
Cayman Islands 0-12 Jamaica
Jamaica took a 12-nil win over the Cayman Islands in Group G at the Costa Rican Football Federation Field # 1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Kelvin Brown led the stellar offensive display for the Reggae Boyz with four goals. Jahmarie Nolan, Jamone Lyle, and Tyraun Bembribge scored braces, while a strike from Rajon Mckenzie, and an own goal added the others to complete the result.
Aruba 1-5 Canada
Canada earned a 5-1 victory against Aruba at the Costa Rican Football Federation Field # 1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Van Parker gave Canada the lead in the 15’ after bringing the ball down with his chest, before tucking it away at the bottom-left corner.
Aruba equalized in the 22’, with Jermaine Carty taking advantage of a defensive mistake and scoring from outside the box.
Canada reclaimed its lead in the 46’ through a header from Liam Torres to the top-right corner.
Quinton Belfon added a third for The Reds in the 65’, with a spectacular long-range goal from a difficult angle.
Torres scored his second from close range in the 68’, while Éloi Breton banged in a volley in the 90+4’.
Group H
Guyana 2-4 Honduras
Honduras took command of Group H with a 4-2 win over Guyana at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Milton Moya handed Honduras the lead in the 18’, with a rocket from outside the box.
Guyana turned the scoring around with strikes from Matthew Stewart in the 23’ and 32’.
Eduardo Romero slotted the ball at the right-bottom corner in the 38’ to level the match for Honduras.
Los Catrachos reclaimed the lead in the 68’ through a header from Denzel Arzu, before Josue Ortega rounded out the result in the 79’.
