Daizen Maeda admits now is the right time for Premier League move | OneFootball

Celtic forward Daizen Maeda has once again underlined his ambition to play in the Premier League as uncertainty over his long-term future at the Hoops continues.

The Japan international has consistently spoken of his desire to test himself in English football and believes the time may now be right to make that move if the opportunity presents itself.

Speaking at a press conference to mark the launch of his autobiography, the 28-year-old said via Daily Record: “I’ve always said that I want to play in the Premier League.

“In terms of timing (for a transfer), I think this is the right time.

“But you never know what will happen.”

Maeda also admitted his age could work against him when it comes to attracting interest from Premier League clubs.

“But it’s difficult because I’m 28 years old, and when I talk to people, it’s kind of a ‘hmm’ feeling.”
