Dango Ouattara’s £42.5million move to Brentford is expected to be finalised by Monday.

The 23-year-old scored nine goals in all competitions last season and is viewed as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who moved to Manchester United last month.

Brentford are expected to pay a fixed fee of £37m plus add-ons for the Burkina Faso international, making the move a club-record deal for the Bees.

Bournemouth had initially been reluctant to sell Ouattara, but having lined up a replacement, the winger has been allowed to pursue a move to west London.

Ouattara’s move is expected to pave the way for Yoane Wissa to leave Brentford.

Wissa has attracted interest from Newcastle, who are looking for a replacement for striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle are weighing up a £35m bid for Wissa, but Standard Sport understands Brentford want a fee closer to their £50m valuation and will demand a £35m fixed fee plus £5m in add-ons to sanction the departure of their all-time Premier League top goalscorer.

The Congolese forward, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, has been left out of Brentford’s squad for their trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Brentford head coach Keith Andrews said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that while he’d ideally want Wissa to stay, the Congolese forward was not in the right headspace to play against Forest.

“We’ve made a decision that he’s not [available],” Andrews said.

Brentford had been keen not to lose Wissa after the departures of Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard this summer.

However, with a deal for Ouattara imminent, Brentford are more relaxed about letting Wissa leave the club.
