Daniel Farke says Dominic Calvert-Lewin has recovered from illness for Leeds United’s FA Cup fourth round trip to Birmingham City, but Anton Stach and Pascal Struijk are unlikely to feature. The head coach added he will not risk players with doubts, with Premier League survival the priority.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Stach sustained a hip problem before last Friday’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest, with Struijk then developing a similar issue, and both missed Tuesday’s match at Chelsea. Calvert-Lewin, whom Farke had hoped would be fit, also sat out at Stamford Bridge due to illness.
Earlier this week Farke indicated Stach would probably be back for next weekend’s league game at Aston Villa. On Friday he said Stach and Struijk remain in rehab and are not expected to be involved at St Andrew’s.
Sebastiaan Bornauw, taken off 10 minutes into the second half at Chelsea after a collision with Karl Darlow around the hosts’ second goal, has only a bruise. Both should be available.
Farke will take late decisions on workload, and reported no new injuries after Chelsea. Everyone who was available then should be available again, and Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte is eligible and not cup tied.
