Daniel Farke offered a cautiously positive update on Jayden Bogle after the defender missed the draw with Manchester United through a minor calf issue, while confirming doubts over Sebastiaan Bornauw, James Justin and Ilia Gruev for Newcastle.

Beanyman Sports reports that Farke views Bogle’s problem as not serious and that the full-back could rejoin the squad for Wednesday, though he accepted it may still be too soon for him to feature.

He said Bogle had been due to play but then developed calf trouble.

On the wider squad, Farke said Bornauw, Justin and Gruev were close to their limit by the end of the Manchester United match, so late calls will be made on their availability on Wednesday night.

The manager added that Bogle’s return is complicated by his time out and the lack of regular collective training as the squad has been split, so Leeds will support his reintegration and assess who is ready.
