Danilo Bitterly Comments on Juventus Exit and Issues

Danilo was formally introduced by Flamengo on Thursday and looked back at his spell with Juventus and his tumultuous departure in particular during his introductory presser (via TuttoSport).

“The Bianconeri were probably the most important team in my career. I’ve built a marvelous story with the fans, the players, and the city. I was very happy for five and a half years. In the last few months, due to the internal changes and some kind of planning, they probably realized I wasn’t suitable, but not for football-related reasons. It bothered me and made me suffer.” “Once I encountered this difficulty, which had nothing to do with my abilities on the pitch, I realized it was time to seek new horizons because I was hurting a lot. I understood it was time for me to leave to go to a team where I could be more comfortable.”

Danilo will maintain fond memories of his time with Juventus despite the bitter end.

“I’ve struggled a lot, but I don’t think it’s worthy to name names. I penned a letter speaking from the heart that says a lot about what I think at this moment. However, I’ll always cheer for the Bianconeri, because we have lived magical and incredible moments together. They have always been a family and taken care of the details and the human element. They lost some of that and part of their identity in recent times. I think the recent results and events mostly come from that. Things will improve if they get back on track on that front.”
