Danilo yet to feature under Leonardo Jardim at Flamengo | OneFootball

Danilo has yet to play under Leonardo Jardim at Flamengo, despite being a leader in the dressing room.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the centre-back has been helping Jardim day to day behind the scenes but remains unused by the new coach.

Goalkeepers Andrew and Dyogo Alves, and midfielder De La Cruz, have also not featured since Jardim’s arrival. Danilo has been out for four matches.

His last appearance came in the Recopa Sudamericana defeat to Lanús of Argentina. He started and was replaced by Filipe Luís in the first minute of extra time.

In 2026 he has played four games, starting each one. Besides the Recopa, he featured in the Campeonato Carioca against Madureira, Botafogo and Sampaio Corrêa.

Danilo may get a chance on Thursday when Flamengo face Remo in the seventh round of the Brasileirão, at the Maracanã from 20:00 Brasília time.
