Dário Essugo out for a month after 'slipping in training' | OneFootball

Dário Essugo's bad luck with injuries continues after an unfortunate incident during training.

Since joining Chelsea from Portuguese side Sporting, Essugo has had bad luck. After initially featuring at the Club World Cup for the Blues he later required surgery after picking up a thigh injury.

The 20-year-old had featured on the bench twice this month without making an appearance but he will now be out of action once again.

"Dario picked up a really unfortunate injury," manager Liam Rosenior said. 

"He slipped in training and he is going to be out for a while, over a month. It is a real shame because he is an outstanding player who I was really looking forward to working with."

The Blues have recently been linked with a loan move for Douglas Luiz and Essugo's extended absence may speed up that process.
