Darwin Núñez ‘not in plans’ for Benfica, Porto or Sporting

Darwin Núñez is unlikely to return to Portuguese football this summer.

Record writes that the striker is outside the plans of Benfica, Porto and Sporting. In recent hours, Arriyadiyah reported he had been close to a move back to Portugal.

With no space at Al Hilal, a summer exit is certain. Since January he has not even been registered for domestic competitions, leaving his minutes close to zero.

He played three matches for Uruguay at the World Cup. The 27-year-old was also linked with Besiktas.

Núñez led Benfica’s attack between 2020 and 2022, producing 48 goals and 15 assists in 85 games.

Last season in the Saudi league he made 16 appearances, 14 of them starts, averaging 78 minutes. He scored six, against an expected goals figure of 11.48, which equates to one goal every 209 minutes.
