Everton extended their unbeaten run to eight games in the Premier League under David Moyes after earning a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday night.

Jack Harrison scored his first goal of the season after his deflected strike beat Jose Sa. Marshall Munetsi equalised five minutes before the break to make it 1-1.

Beto and Carlos Alcaraz had an effort on target in the second half but couldn’t beat the keeper.

With that result, Wolves have moved six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, while Everton jumped to 14th in the table.

After the match, Moyes praised Harrison, saying he was pleased with his effort. The Toffees boss also spoke highly about Harrison’s work rate, but he made it clear that he wants more goals and assists from the 28-year-old.

Harrison joined the Toffees on loan from Everton during the summer transfer window, and it is not clear whether Everton will try to sign him permanently in the summer.

“I’m sure everybody knows his work rate is really high. He always does a good job for the team, but he’s got a lot to do. He’s still got a lot to improve on because we need more.

“One’s not enough for me, you know, we need [Harrison and Lindstrøm] to come up with more and more assists, but I’m pleased they got the goal tonight.”

Everton are showing signs of resurgence under Moyes and what has been really refreshing is that the players are playing with confidence.

Under Sean Dyche, the Toffees only relied on set-pieces for goals, and they were toothless in attack. That has changed under Moyes, where Everton are not one-dimensional anymore.

The Toffees will get even better when Iliman Ndiaye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Armando Broja return from injuries.
