Sky Sports' David Prutton has weighed in on the Rams' home clash against Ipswich Town this weekend.
David Prutton has weighed in on Derby County's upcoming clash against Ipswich Town, as the two play-off and promotion contenders prepare for battle at Pride Park Stadium.
It's the Rams who head into the game with confidence after an incredible 5-0 win over Bristol City last Friday at Ashton Gate, while the Tractor Boys were forced to come from behind as they picked up a late point away to Preston North End, drawing 1-1.
The two sides faced one another all the way back in August, with the points shared on that occasion in Suffolk. Jacob Greaves opened the scoring for the home side at Portman Road, before a quick-fire double from John Eustace's side saw them take the lead. However, Carlton Morris' and Rhian Brewster's goals were not enough for the victory, as Jack Clarke's 106th minute penalty saw the game end 2-2.
Now, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has issued his verdict on their second meeting of the campaign, and whether Derby can put their home issues to bed.
The Rams have found it tough to convert draws into wins at home this season, and their form at Pride Park has been extremely poor, while they have been excellent on the road.

Meanwhile, Ipswich have had the opposite issue, and with just four wins away from Portman Road in 2025/26, supporters may just be fearing more damage to their promotion hopes on Saturday. Nonetheless, Prutton believes that both sides may come away feeling relatively pleased.
He said on the Essential EFL Podcast: "Only six points between the two, and I think at a certain stage of the season you wouldn't have presumed that to be the case. So, I think this is a cracking game in the offing given what Derby have done, given what we saw from them last Friday, demolishing Bristol City.
"Their promotion credentials are being put to the test here, given the fact that they're just two points outside the top six. It's a good lunchtime kick-off, I've got a lot of time for John [Eustace], I've got a lot of time for Kieran McKenna and after the respected work that they both did in the transfer window, I'm intrigued to see how it looks.
"I'm going to go 2-2."
This is just the two clubs' fourth meeting since 2019, with Ipswich's relegation to League One that season putting an end to 19 straight years of the two facing one another.

Nevertheless, it is the Tractor Boys who have been on top in this fixture, winning 38 times compared to Derby's 29, while there has also been 23 draws.
The Rams have not beat the Suffolk outfit since August 2018, and Ipswich have lost just one of their last 12 visits to Pride Park.
If history repeats itself, Derby may just lose touch with the top six for now, but they have everything at their disposal to take all three points on Saturday.
