The recent rumors surrounding Charles De Ketelaere and FC Bayern appear to be rapidly losing momentum. After the Belgian was recently mentioned as a possible transfer candidate, a clear denial has now followed

Belgian transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri and kicker in particular had recently reported that Munich were looking closely at the attacking player from Atalanta Bergamo

According to Sky, however, this does not correspond to reality. Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg clarified: „De Ketelaere is not even on FC Bayern’s list for the summer.“

Bayern looking for a different player profile

The main reason apparently lies in the profile they are looking for. While De Ketelaere is primarily at home in attacking midfield or as a hanging midfielder, FC Bayern are currently pursuing other priorities on the transfer market. According to the report, Munich are currently looking specifically for a new left winger as well as reinforcements for the central defensive midfield

Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon is still regarded as the absolute ideal solution on the left side of attack, while the record champions are continuing their efforts to sign Hertha youngster Kennet Eichhorn in midfield

In sporting terms, De Ketelaere would be an interesting player for many top clubs, but internally he does not seem to play a role at FC Bayern at the moment

At Atalanta Bergamo, the Belgian impresses above all with his technique, his intelligence and his versatility in the final third

However, Bayern already have several players with similar attacking profiles in Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl, which is why the sporting management around Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are apparently concentrating on other areas of the squad at the moment

It therefore seems clear that the recently hotly debated De Ketelaere move to Munich is off the table for the time being.
