Alexandros Gogic settled it in the 83rd minute with a thumping header, as St Mirren beat Aberdeen 2-0. The defender's all-round display tilted the game decisively in the hosts' favour.

He had already signalled his threat with a near-post header from a set piece that flew wide (11.). From there he read the game cleanly, stepping in front to break attacks and keeping the visitors away from Shamal George's goal.

Then came the clincher. Rising through traffic to meet Scott Tanser's corner, Gogic guided his header into the bottom corner (83.), capping the performance his defensive work had earned.

The centre-back finished with six clearances, three interceptions and 45 of 49 passes completed, a tidy platform that underpinned St Mirren's control. His positioning and timing meant the Dons failed to register a shot on target across the 90 minutes.

Because the structure kept bodies around him and funnelled play wide, Gogic attacked first balls and cleaned up the seconds. That balance let St Mirren squeeze territory, while his set piece timing provided the late punch.

St Mirren visit Celtic next in the Premiership. The Dons host Hibernian.
