André Dozzell struck in the 87th minute to earn Portsmouth a 2-2 draw with Oxford United at Fratton Park. The midfielder's late finish capped a busy display in and out of possession.
He had already shaped the tie in the third minute of first half stoppage time, cushioning a header that set up Regan Poole to draw a low save from Jamie Cumming.
After the restart he carried a threat from range, sending a left-footed attempt over from outside the box (65.), and kept Portsmouth moving with clean distribution into the final third.
When Oxford went ahead (81.), Dozzell stayed on the front foot. He arrived in the centre to sweep Millenic Alli's pass into the bottom right corner (87.).
He finished with three attempts, one on target, and completed 29 of 34 passes, including 11 successful final third balls, underlining his influence between the lines.
Portsmouth visit Middlesbrough next. Oxford United host Watford.
