This summer could define the trajectory of Hansi Flick’s project at FC Barcelona. With a strong core already in place, the team is just a few strategic signings away from becoming a true powerhouse.
Sporting director Deco, once under scrutiny, has earned renewed trust following key moves, most notably the appointment of Flick and the signing of Dani Olmo. Now, he faces a pivotal transfer window where smart additions and difficult sacrifices will shape the club’s next chapter.
The Portuguese director needs to give Hansi Flick the tools he wants at his disposal. This also means that Barcelona might have to make sacrifices and let a few players go to raise funds and to reduce the wage budget.

As per Fichajes, in line with the summer plan, Deco has prepared to offload six first-team Barcelona players in the upcoming transfer window: Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, Pau Victor and Pablo Torre.
Among these six names, the more obvious ones are Fati, Pau Victor and Torre. These three players have very much been on the periphery of Hansi Flick’s plans this season and have not had enough game time to warrant a place in the squad.
Fati, in particular, has hardly featured this season and is on astronomical wages. We covered a story a while ago about Barcelona trying to sort out a mutual termination of his contract with his entourage and it will be an interesting thing to keep an eye out on in the coming weeks.
However, the same cannot be said about the other three players. Starting with Araujo, the Uruguayan has had a very disappointing campaign since his return from injury but he just signed a new contract with the club back in January and is one of the captains.

Everyone is aware of the talent that the defender possesses when he is in form and with a proper pre-season behind him, one can be optimistic of seeing the real Araujo again. Christensen on the other hand has been injured for almost the entire season.
However, the Dane has returned in recent weeks and looked like he was never gone. It is astonishing to see just how suited he seems to Hansi Flick’s system despite almost an entire year out of the game and he is only bound to get better as the match sharpness comes back.

Finally, coming to Eric Garcia, it is very simple: he doesn’t deserve to be sold. The Spaniard has quietly emerged as one of the cult heroes for Hansi Flick’s team and is the ultimate Swiss-Knife, capable of playing a variety of roles.
Players like the ex-Manchester City man are very difficult to find and Barcelona should not be entertaining any offers for him. The same goes for Christensen but Araujo is one that is 50-50. For the right transfer fee, the club might be okay with letting him go.
Whether all six names end up on the transfer list remains to be seen, but the weeks ahead promise significant movement at Camp Nou. With Barcelona aiming to balance ambition and financial reality, Deco has a tough but vital job on his hands. If executed well, this summer could provide Flick with the ideal squad to elevate his vision and push the Catalan giants closer to their former dominance.
