Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has once again stated that he is not at all worried about his position, even as the club endures a run of poor performances and results.

United suffered a third defeat in six Premier League games last weekend, as they were beaten 0-3 by Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were poor and never got into the game as Ange Postecolgou’s men ran rampant.

The result has since led to renewed speculation over Ten Hag’s future at the club. After the final whistle vs. Spurs, he told reporters that he is not concerned about noise from outside as both he and the owners are on the same page.

A subsequent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that while the new leadership team have no desire to immediately sack Ten Hag, they will not hesitate to pull the trigger if results and performances do not drastically improve.

Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic suggested that Ten Hag has the two upcoming games, vs. Porto and Aston Villa in the Europa League and Premier League respectively to save his job.

The Dutchman granted an interview to Sky Sports and insisted that United can dig themselves out of their current predicament.

He said, “We are going to make a success from the season. Nothing is easy, but this is nothing for me to panic about. We can sort [the problems] out, this team can sort this out.”

When asked if he will still be in the Old Trafford dugout if United’s next two fixtures go badly, he replied, “I’m not thinking about it, I’m not anxious.

“We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership. We made this agreement, and we were all behind it. We know the strategy [is to bring in] young players in a transition period.”

He added, “They also know in May in all my last six seasons there were always trophies and that is what we are aiming for.”

Ten Hag insisted that it’s important the players maintain their belief and faith because once that’s gone, then all hope is lost.

He further said, “For a long period, we are in transition at Manchester United. From the moment I came in, we knew we had to change. We had to replace some older players.”

“Our choice was to bring young players in and that takes time to get the messages on board, to get a game model on board and to introduce a new culture. That takes time.”

“In the meantime, you have to win and I think we have proven in the last two years that we win. I’ve proven in my career that always I will win. The last six years I have eight trophies.”

When questioned over whether he takes the responsibility for the team’s struggles on the pitch, Ten Hag pointed out that when the players fail to perform, it means he hasn’t done his job well.

He told Sky Sports that all the players are aligned and that the vibe within the ranks is still good, even after the recent setbacks they’ve faced.
