At nearly 22 years old, Ousmane Diomandé is a highly sought-after central defender. The Ivorian international from Sporting Lisbon, under contract until June 30, 2027, is attracting interest from several clubs, particularly in England. Alain Gouaméné, the former Elephants goalkeeper and now a member of the national team's technical staff, sees a future leader in him, both at the club and international level. He shared his views on the player's situation in an exclusive interview with Africafoot.

"He was 12 years old when I met him. He played for the club CS Abobo before leaving for Europe. I was not part of that club, but I regularly attended youth matches and gave advice to the president. I have an excellent image of Ousmane. He is a very well-mannered boy, polite, respectful of everything and everyone, and shy. He doesn't open up much. He is also someone who is ambitious, hardworking, and very professional."

"He made a courageous and interesting choice by going to Denmark, to FC Midtjylland, where he continued his training. Going to Denmark, in Northern Europe, when you are 17 years old, when you are Ivorian, I can assure you that it is a radical life change. He was then loaned to Mafra, in the Portuguese second division, where he caught the attention of Sporting Lisbon, one of the biggest clubs in the country. His career path has been intelligent so far. He has learned a lot at Sporting Lisbon, and he will continue to learn."
