David Datro Fofana has been linked with a move to Pride Park, but for Patrick Agyemang and Rhian Brewster, they will hope he moves to Scotland.
Derby County and Celtic will be spending the next few days agonisingly awaiting the decision of Chelsea, after they recalled David Datro Fofana from his loan spell in Turkey on Monday.
The striker has been linked with a move to both the Rams and the Scottish giants, with the former looking to loan the 23-year-old in for the rest of the campaign while the Bhoys are looking at a permanent transfer for the ex-Burnley man, matching Chelsea's desire, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Following Carlton Morris' injury in November during a 3-2 defeat to Watford, Derby have been without their talisman and instead Patrick Agyemang, Ben Brereton Diaz and Rhian Brewster have been the three forwards utilised by John Eustace during this time, with Lars-Jorgen Salvesen also rotated in.
For supporters, seeing a player of Fofana's calibre join would be a huge coup and he would offer the club a different approach in the final third - especially while Morris recovers from his injury. However, for those on the pitch, they may well just hope that their club are beaten in the race for the striker.
There is a great team spirit in the East Midlands right now and this camaraderie will be incredibly difficult to break, and there would be no doubts that Fofana would be welcomed with open arms into the group on the whole. However, Agyemang and Brewster would be in direct competition with the Ivorian youngster.

With Champions League, Premier League, Bundesliga and Süper Lig experience, the credentials of the striker are incredibly high and he would certainly be an excellent fit in the starting XI, and Eustace may well be keen to partner him alongside Morris once the Rams' number nine returns to action.
Yet, this could leave others at the club questioning whether they would be able to get the consistent game time that they desire or not. Brewster in particular could struggle, with his output in front of goal not at the same level as Derby's other forward players.
Meanwhile, Agyemang would have to continue his form, with the American attacker finding his feet in the Championship in the last few months following his move from Charlotte FC in the summer.
Derby's £5.8m signing has been a shining star, particularly on the road, and Fofana would look to oust him from his attacking position if a move is completed. Therefore, these two Rams stars may have slight hopes that Celtic win this particular transfer battle.
Goalscorers are a desire of any manager, and Eustace will be extremely keen to see a deal for the Chelsea forward brought to the club.
While Celtic may have the advantage due to their desire to sign Fofana on a permanent deal, Derby will be waiting in the wings to pounce on a potential hitch in any negotiation and he would add more pace and power to the forward line at Pride Park.

Agyemang has been a revelation in away games, but he sometimes struggles to have that same impact in home matches and Fofana could help take away some of this pressure. With Morris closing in on his return, having four talented strikers at the club (including Salvesen) would be huge for Eustace and his desire to take Derby to the top six.
However, for those already in the team, less competition for minutes may well be a desire, and therefore, they may well be keeping one eye on the saga involving Fofana, Chelsea and Celtic.
