As expected, Désiré Doué and Manu Koné will start for France against Morocco in Thursday’s World Cup quarter-final in Foxborough, Massachusetts, according to L'Équipe.
Doué returns to the starting XI after Bradley Barcola was preferred in the last two outings, a 1-0 win over Paraguay then a 3-0 victory against Sweden. The 21-year-old, the younger of Paris Saint-Germain’s two wingers, is set to face Achraf Hakimi down the flank.
Aurélien Tchouaméni has not recovered from a thigh problem in time, so Koné starts for the second match running. It will be his fourth start of the tournament.
Lucas Digne keeps his place at left-back. France should line up as they have since the start of the World Cup, in a four-two-three-one.
France XI: Maignan in goal, a back four of Koundé, Upamecano, Saliba and Digne, Manu Koné and Rabiot in midfield, O. Dembélé, Michael Olise and Désiré Doué supporting captain K. Mbappé.
