Désiré Doué netted his first goal for France, opening the scoring against Colombia on Sunday night. It arrived on his sixth cap.
The 30th-minute strike came in a friendly in Landover, in the Washington suburbs. After slick interplay between Rayan Cherki and Marcus Thuram, the ball broke to the Parisian.
He hit a low right-foot shot that Daniel Munoz deflected into his own net, wrong-footing Alvaro Montero.
At 20, Doué became the 100th different France scorer of the 21st century.
As reported by L'Équipe, the former Rennes player had been a doubt for this game due to rib pain. The display strengthens his case for the World Cup, scheduled from 11 June to 19 July.
