Details behind Inter’s initial discussions for Udinese defender Oumar Solet | OneFootball

Serie A side Inter have been interested in Udinese’s Oumar Solet for quite a while now. They have previously held back on discussions but they are very active on this front now.

FCInterNews report that discussions between the two clubs have taken place today. The meeting lasted an hour and it took place at a well-known Milanese hotel, as Inter asked about Solet and also held initial discussions regarding a move for Arthur Atta.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have more details, saying Inter actually made a formal offer for the defender. They put forward an initial loan worth €6 million and an obligation to buy on affordable terms. Inter feel the loan fee is quite high but it is an investment which should convince Udinese as a guarantee.

The total package would exceed the €25 million quota which the Friulians have asked for too and it can now be difficult for Udinese to reject these advances.

Inter moving cleverly

Inter have been quite wise, waiting for the legal uncertainties around the player to go away before moving formally for him. Solet is exceptional on the ball and one of the best technicians in the backline that Serie A has right now.

Inter are refurbishing their defence and he will come in as a big signing, which many major clubs would ideally want to make.
