As has already been well-established, FC Barcelona are working on the signing of Hamza Abdelkarim, a centre-forward from Egyptian side Al Ahly, with the idea of incorporating him into Barça Atletic.

The 17-year-old striker has impressed the Barça scouts with his performances and the club wish to sign him in January, initially to bolster the reserve team, with a spot in the senior setup in the future based on his progression.

Barcelona propose loan-to-buy deal for Abdelkarim

Now, according to Egyptian sources, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have already made their initial offer to sign Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly.

As per the report, the Blaugrana’s offer consists of a six-month loan at no cost, running until June, plus a €4 million purchase option.

That amount would be structured as €1 million fixed, with the rest tied to performance-related bonuses.

As mentioned previously, the plan is for Abdelkarim to join the reserve team, Barça Atletic, in January, as they are currently short of natural strikers, with both Oscar Gistau and Victor Barbera injured.

Abdelkarim is a classic centre-forward with an eye for goal and a powerful shot. The youngster caught everyone’s eye at the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup, scoring two goals for Egypt, while he has also made his senior debut for Al Ahly.

It must be noted that back in July, Barça received a delegation from Al Ahly.

Among those visiting were Mahmoud El Khatib, president of the Egyptian club, and Mohamed Kamel, president of Red Castle Company and the man in charge of the stadium project Al Ahly hope to inaugurate in 2029 with a capacity of 45,000 spectators.

It now remains to be seen whether Barcelona’s proposal to sign Abdelkarim on loan with a €4 million purchase option is accepted by the Egyptian giants.
